Your Input Needed: September 25 Forum on Improving Transportation in the Lower Mystic Area!

The Lower Mystic Regional Working Group has been examining infrastructure and policy options to make it easier to move around the Sullivan Square area, including the neighborhood of Charlestown and cities of Somerville and Everett. At the September 25 forum, we’ll share our analysis so far and get your thoughts. We’ll ask you which Lower Mystic area transportation needs are the most urgent, what you think could be built, and what policies could be put in place. Your feedback will help us help judge the scenarios we have studied and understand what is most important to local communities.

Thus far the Working Group has looked at ten different combinations of infrastructure and policy changes. This includes new and refined public transportation options, roadway infrastructure improvements, new bicycle and pedestrian amenities, and policies to encourage multimodal travel. Some of these options came directly from what we heard from the community over the fall and winter. An overview of potential funding options is also being studied.
Thanks to all who came to our last forum in fall 2016 as well as those that took our survey and took part in our discussion groups. Read a summary of the feedback we have heard and review the presentation from the fall 2016 public meeting here. See summaries of our meetings and presentations of the analyses conducted thus far here.
We hope to see you at the September 25 public forum. Stay tuned for more information leading up to September!
